Preparation - StretchesEdit

Our instructors at Knoxville have asked that we study these pages from the book "Stretching: 20th Anniversary Revised Edition" by Bob and Jean Anderson (2000). Practice these every day between now and the beginning of curling camp so that you will have maximum flexibility when you hit the ice!

Location and DirectionsEdit

Here is the address of the rink where we will meet:

Ice Chalet
100 Lebanon Street
Knoxville, TN 37919-4301
(865) 588-1858

I recommend using our Google Map to generate your driving directions. Google Maps shows it to be a 3 1/2 hour drive from Atlanta to the Ice Chalet.

Social Dinner Edit

Saturday evening there will be a social gathering at a restaurant as well.

It looks like we will be gathering at Mulligan's, a bar and pizza place.

8923 Linksvue Drive
Knoxville, TN 37922

There are two hotel/motels near the Ice Chalet, and these are listed on the Google Map as well:

  1. The higher-priced nearby hotel (This one came up $95 w/AAA discount, taxes and 2 adults in 2 beds):
Holiday Inn Hotel Knoxville Central @ Papermill
    1315 Kirby Road
    Knoxville, TN 37909
  2. The lower-priced nearby motel (This one came up $58 w/AAA discount, taxes and 2 adults in 2 beds):
    Super 8 Knoxville Downtown/West
    6200 Papermill Drive
    Knoxville, TN 37919-4029

What to BringEdit

Wear loose fitting clothes and warm soft-soled shoes (like track or tennis shoes). Long-sleeved shirts and long pants are recommended, or you may want to have a fairly warm jacket.
